This wiki is the result of the ETS CBALTM Reading/Writing Conceptual project by Paul Deane, John Sabatini, and Tenaha O'Reilly. The intent of this project was to develop a unified competency model for the English language arts addressing reading and writing. The goals of this competency model are (a) to link the CBAL reading and writing assessments to what is known from the cognitive literature, (b) to provide hypothesized learning progressions for the skills it covers, and (c) to map this information onto the Common Core State Standards.

Most of the content on the site was written by Paul, John, and Tenaha. Others who contributed to the construction of the wiki were Randy Bennett, Lynn Zaback, Kim Fryer, Jessica Balsavage, Mark Syp, and Denise Schmutte.
